Abstract: In the process of realizing STEP, Application Protocols cann't enough meet the need of specifies domain. To get to this point, a modular approach has been developed. In describes how to apply modular approach in STEP mode l managment, and also defines its information architecture and provides a struct ure of PD-Manager. By PD-Manager user can establish model more expediently. It is flex ible, potentially support integration in different CAx, and sharing between diff erent application areas. Binding with PDM system, product data manage will beco me more flexible.
