Abstract: A rub-impact map of rotor systems is localized in a nei ghborhoodof grazing orbit, and then the map is fitted with the experimental dat a. A delayed variable feedback control method is adopted for the localized syste m. The rub-impact motions are stabilized into the period-1 motion by choosing the gain of control properly, and further development of chaos can thus be succe ssfully avoided.
