Abstract: In engineering,many systems can be described by dynamic intervalsystems.However,the stability criteria for interval systems in the existing literatures are either too conservative,or too difficult in application. We firstly present a kind of equivalent description of interval systems.Then by employing Lyapunov method and Riccati equation approach,some simple sufficient conditions of robust stability for dynamic continuous and discrete interval systems are obtained,respectively.These conditions can be tested by only solving Riccati inequalities (Eq.(3.1) and (Eq.(3.2)) or equivalently by computing H∞ norm (Eq.(3.2)). The numerical example shows that our result is not only less conservative,but also simple and easy to implement.
