Cao Xueqin wrote about dozens of various dreams in his wo rd to serve as a foil to emotion. Dreams derive from emotion.The writer gave an exquisite,true and colourful description of the dreams of the characters,thus r evealing a strong,deep and rich emotion which is coluorful and thought provoking .In his work,dreams and emotiom connect so well as an integral whole that they c omplement each other to depict the characters and reveal the theme of the work.
