Abstract: <正> On April 16, more than 50 tigers reluctantly left their home at the Bear and Tiger Village in Guilin to begina long trip in a motorcade to Nanjing. They are the first batch of tigers to "migrate" from the area, whichmarks the beginning of a worldwide pioneering project on wildlife protection. The world\'s biggest base for the breeding of bears and tigers, the Bear and Tiger Village in Guilin boasts morethan 300 tigers, which are precious endangered species, including the South China Tiger, the Northeast Tiger andthe Bengal Tiger. Last year alone, over 100 young tigers were successfully born at this base. In order to ship the tigers safely, special iron cages had been made several months earlier. In addition, on theday before the shipment, staff members conducted physical examinations for these tigers and made particulararrangements for the baby ones.
