Effects of qigui jiannao granule on improving learning and remembering of AD rats and on protein expression of nNOS and COX-2

Abstract: Objective: To observe the protection of qigui jiannao granule for learning and remembering of AD rats,and approach the mechanism of action.Methods: Divided seven groups with seventy Wistar masculinity rats at random,and ten rats every team.Modeling AD rats with Aβ-40 by hippocampus injection.After seven days,qigui jiannao granule were administered to AD rats,and lasted twenty-one days.Observed learning and remembering of AD rats,and used immunohistochemical method to detect the expression of COX-2 and nNOS in hippocampus. Results: Qigui jiannao granule can obviously shorten the latency of AD rats caused by Aβ-40 and increase the frequency of passing through platform.It decreased the masculine expression of COX-2 and increased the masculine expression of nNOS. Conclusion: Qigui jiannao granule might lessen brain tissue neuron damage and improve the learning and remembering of AD rats caused by Aβ-40 by signal transduction pathway of COX-2 and nNOS.
