Abstract: Objective: To examine the advanced oxidation protein products(AOPP) in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI) who underwent PCI and discuss the development of AOPP in AMI patients. Methods: AOPP were determined by measurements of optical density (OD) at 340 nm under acidic conditions in the plasma of 74 AMI patients(include 28 patients underwent emergency PCI,46 patients underwent selective PCI)and 21 non-coronary artery disease(non-CAD) patients.Plasma collected immediately、post-24 h and post-48 h after patients were recruited. Results: Compared with patients with AMI who underwent emergency PCI(97.58±23.41) μmol/L,significantly higher serum AOPP were detected in patients with AMI who underwent selective PCI(236.42±30.41) μmol/L(P<0.01);AOPP levels have significant difference between patients with AMI who underwent selective PCI and patients without CAD(57.41±13.60) μmol/L(P<0.01),no difference between patients with AMI who underwent emergency PCI and patients without CAD(P>0.05). Conclusion: Oxidative stress was an important step in development of AMI,Advanced Oxidation Protein Products(AOPP) in serum of AMI underwent selective PCI patients increased significantly, active intervention(PCI&drugs) will significantly suppress AOPP at the beginning of AMI(3-12 h).
