Analysis on Conditions of Instruments and Equipment in Disease Control and Prevention Institutions of Shandong Province from 2002 to 2005

Abstract: [Objective]To understand the conditions of instruments and equipments in the system of disease control and prevention in Shandong province, so as to provide scientific evidence for working out the equipping plan for the system.[Methods]A general survey and analysis was made on disease control and prevention institutions from 2002 to 2005 at tertiary levels in Shandong province.[Results]According to the national standards, the instruments and equipments at the provincial CDC exceeded the national standards for routine instrument and equipment. According to the essential equipping standards for basic function, the rate of possession was 82.91% in category,69.81% in quantity, with those in poor operation accounting for 11.84%.At the municipal CDCs, the routine and functional rate of possession was 62.95% and 49.15% in category,54.22% and 22.67% in quantity, with those in poor operation accounting for 5.18%.At the county CDCs,the routine and functional rate of possession was 58.71% and 48.72% in category,48.44% and 27.62% in quantity, those allocated before 1998 accounting for 35.00%.[Conclusion]The instruments and equipments at the provincial CDC can only meet the requirements for routine operation, while those at municipal and county CDCs cannot maintain routine operation.
