The Changes of Cholinesterase Activities in Serum and Brain Tissue in Type-2 Diabetic Rat

Abstract: Objective To investigate the inherent relation between the activity of cholinesterase in serum and brain tissue in rats with Alzheimer disease(AD) and type-2 diabetic mellitus(DM).Methods Type-2 diabetic rats were induced by high-fat and high-caloric feed and streptozotocin(STZ) through intravenous injection.Serum and brain tissue of rats were collected.AchE,BchE,FBG and FINS were determined.Results The serum level of acetylcholinesterase(AchE),butyryl cholinesterase(BchE),FBG,FINS in DM group was significantly higher than that in control group.The activity of AchE and BchE in the brain tissue was decreased.Conclusion The serum level of AchE,BchE was increased significantly and the activity of AchE and BchE in the brain tissue was decreased in rats with DM,which might be related to the development of AD.
