Abstract: Objective:To investigate the effects of carthamus by injection on the diabetic preipheral neuropathy (DPN).Methods:Comparing eighty cases treated by carthamus as treatment group and twenty cases treated by mecobalamin as control group. And observing the effects of carthamus on the electromyogram, FBG, GHbAl, 6-Keto-PGF 1a, Endothelin (ET), Thromboxane B 2(TXB 2) et al.Results:Marked effective rate:61.25% (treatment group) vs 20.00% (control group) (P<0.01). Effective rate:82.50% (treatment group) vs 45.00% (control group) (P<0.01). After treatment the nerve conduction velocity developed significantly, FBG and GHbAl decreased slightly (P>0.05). 6-Keto-PGF 1a improved evidently (P< 0.05) . Endothelin (ET), Thromboxane B 2(TXB 2) decreased evidently (P<0.05) in treatment group. Conclusion:Carthamus by injection has a good effect on DPN.
