Abstract: Objective:To analyze the relationship between Robertsonian translocation chromosomal karyotype and recurrent spontaneous abortions. Methods:Chromosomal karyotype studies were performed on routinely cultured lymphocytes.Slides were processed for G-banding with Tryp sin-Giemsa by standard techniques. Results:There were 4 Robertsonian translocation karyotypes in 57 couples with recurrent spontaneous abortions, the rate of abnormal karyotypes was 3.51%.Conclusions:The Robertsonian translocation was one of reasons of recurrent spontaneous abortions and the effect of chromosome heteromorphism was not beignored. It is necessary to analyse and genetic counselling in couples with recurrent spontaneous abortions.
