Abstract: Objective: To investigate the effect of deltamethrin on rat lymphocytes DNA damage and liver function. Methods: 32 female Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups. The deltamethrin exposure doses were separately 0, 3.125, 6.250, 12.500 mg/kg by gavage for ten days. DNA damage was detected by Single cell gel electrophoresis (Comet assay) and liver function was evaluated by alanine aminotransferase assay. Results: Tail DNA percentage、Tail Moment and Olive Tail Moment of peripheral lymphocytes in rats exposed by deltamethrin were higher than that in control group. Liver function indexes had no significant differences between test group and control group. Conclusions: Peripheral lymphocytes DNA damage was induced by deltamethrin without the changes of liver function under the experimental condition.
