Abstract: Objective To compare the effects of puncturing different points on the level of blood lipid in the serum in rats. Methods 32 SD rats were randomly divided into the normal group, model group, fenglong group, dazhui group and non acupoint group (at the middle point of the dorsal part of the tail). The rat model of hyperlipemia was established for the experiment. Acupuncture was performed at fenglong, dazhui and non acupoint in the model rats, respectively and then, the levels of TC, TG, LDL c and HDL c were measured. Results It was found that puncturing fenglong, dazhui and non acupoint could markedly decrease the levels of TG, TC and LDL c; dazhui had superiority reducing TC, and fenglong had superiority in reducing LDL c. It was also found that fenglong and non acupoint, especially fenglong, could increase the level of HDL c while dazhui could decrease the level of HDL c. Conclusion Although all the pionts punctured have certain effects on the level of blood lipid in serum, different points have different effects on the components of blood lipid. Fenglong has been proven to be virtuous and specific in regulating blood lipid.
