Abstract: Nanometer TiO 2 could apparently adsorb the cell of Microcystic aeruginosa var.major A.M.Smith , and restrain its growth. Analyzed from the physiological point of view, nanometer TiO 2 could increase O 2 -· content, decrease antioxidant system's capacity, including SOD and CAT etc, and total antioxidant capacity in Microcystic aeruginosa var.major A.M.Smith.Utltimately soluble protein content descended and its lipid hydroperoxide contents increased. The results of the laser scanning confocal imaging system showed that the intensity of its spontaneous fluorescence under treatment was weaker than that in control, this illustrated its life-force's debasement.
