Abstract: Paddy-soils from two towns of the Hefei City,Anhui Province,were chosen to investigate the adsorption properties of heavy metals Cd,Hg,Pb under the influence of phosphoric acid.Batch equilibration method was used in this experiment to study the adsorption thermodynamics and isotherm of heavy metals in two typical soils.Adsorption thermodynamics was further used to investigate the adsorption mechanisms of heavy metals.The Cd,Hg,Pb absorption Gibbs free energy of the two soils are all negative,which indicate that their related chemical processes can take place spontaneously,and also the chemical sorption coexists with the physical sorption.The absorption of Cd,Hg,and Pb by the two soils is governed by positive adsorption entropy processes.
