Abstract: Concurrent chemo-radiotherapy is a new way to treat paitents with brain metastases from lung cancer. The blood-brian barrier can be opened more widely by whole brain radiotherapy, then the chemotheropy drugs can be promoted into the metastases, and the local concentration is increased. Some chemotherapy drugs can get into brain tissue through the distructed blood-brian barrier in some studies. At the same time chemotherapy and radiotherapy can interact with each other in the progress of treatment. Some clinic trials have had a conclusion that concurrent chemo-radiotherapy can increase short term response rate and prolong survival time.
