Abstract: Rainfall is the main factor leading to instability of Chongqing gangue hill.The study adopts Green-Ampt infiltration model and the interrelated theory of unsaturated soil to the stability calculation of gangue hill under raining conditions.Considering the impact of suction to strength of gangue aggregation,the paper adopts the limit analysis method to analyze the slope safety factors of different rainfall phases.By the calculation of gangue hill stress-strain state under rainfall conditions,two necessary factors are put forward: Suction not only effect on the strength of gangue but also on the strain parameter and the yield criteria;The consolidation of the gangue aggregation effect on its infiltration ability.
